The trekking to the area is mostly designed for those who want to explore the rural village. This is one of the trekking areas that the clients of Hotel Trekker's Home often love to visit.

You have two options for the trekking to the area, either by air from Kathmandu to Lukla or by road from Kathmandu to Jiri and begin the trekking from Jiri along the Everest route to the Solukhumbu the heartland of Sherpa ethnic community. After a few days of trek, we reach at Solukhumbu district, where the Mt. Everest is located. Otherwise, we also can have direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, a residence of Sherpas and home of Buddhist monasteries. Passing through this Sherpa village and monasteries lying around the area, we reach Gokyo valley, from where you can enjoy the panoramic views of the gorgeous Himalayas.

The trail from Gokyo valley takes a gradual ascent up and passes through the patches of birch and rhododendron forest where the indescribable musk deer can sometimes be seen. Through small yak grazing settlements, we reach to Gokyo lakes. Subsequently, we ascend up to the Kalapathar peak. From there we can capture the scenic views of Himalayan, including the four the highest peaks in the world above 8000 m, namely, Mt. Cho OyU (8,201 m), Mt. Makalu (8,463 m), Mt. Lotse (8,516 m) and the Mt. Everest 8,848 m and other breathtaking mountain vistas. Once we make it to the Kalapathar making a trip around, finally we return back to Lukla airport and we catch the place and fly back to Kathmandu or return from the same route to Jiri and catch bus.
