Dhaulagiri Trekking

Dhaulagiri Trekking is one of the most popular trekking destinations in Nepal. It is also one of the most challenging trekking in the country. Dhaulagiri is the sixth highest mountain in the world with 8,167 m height. It is no doubt, during the trekking in the region, one will have the most exciting experience from the trekking and be enchanted with the scenes of the area.

Dhaulagiri round trekking begins from Kathmandu to Beni by bus, from Beni, we set out trekking on foot. In between, we happen to cross many cultivated fields, forests and villages, where various ethnic groups reside, namely, Gurung, Chhetri, and Magar etc. and after few days trip, we reach at Italian base camp, from where we can see the exciting views of Dhaulagiri I, II, III, IV& V. we will have a rest for few days for acclimatize with the altitude. Once we are ready, we head on to Dhaulagiri north base camp, and continue our trek to the French pass [5,240 m] and Thapa pass [5,155 m]. In between we can encounter semi-wild yak herds, mountain sheep or the elusive snow leopard etc and we also can see the views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Throng peak, Annapurna and Kali Gandaki River; the world deepest gorge. Subsequently, we descend down to Marpha, a popular city of Mustang district, which is situated between majestic mountain of Annapurna, Nilgiri and Machhapuchhare, and then we reach at Tatopani [hot-water in Nepali], where we can have a bath as well. From Tatopani, we ascend down to Pokhara and then finally back to Kathmandu.

Dhaulagiri Trekking Day to Day Itinerary:

Day 01: Upon your arrival in kathmandu(1000m/3280ft)
Budget Adventure treks & expeditions will officially greet and meet you at Airport & transfer to you Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel. Free day & evening welcome dinner at any typical Nepalese Restaurant.

Day 02: Half day guided city tours
(tour includes Katmandu Durbar Square, Syambunath Stupa, Pashupati Nath Temple - Hindu Temple & Buddha Nath - The biggest Buddha Stupa in ancent Katmandu). Afternoon pre-trip discussion of next day trek.

Day 03:
Kathmandu to Beni by Private Transport it takes around 8/9 Hours on smooth Drive. O/N At Beni

Day 04:
Beni-Babichaur (1000m) After leaving the Kali Gandaki River you enter in the Myagdi Khola valley.

Day 05:
Babichaur-Dharapani (1565m) Tonight you will camp in Dharapani 1565m, and the Dhaulagiri is no more so far.

Day 06:
Dharapani-Muri (1850m) The path goes steep up to Muri 1850 m, where the Mt. Dhaulagiri and other mountains appear clearly.

Day 07:
Muri-Boghara (2050m) From Muri the trail is easy and goes down for few hours but before to reach Boghara you have to climb a steep path for a couple of hours.

Day 08:
Boghara-Dhoban (2630m) Today the path is quite difficult and sometime you will need the help of the ropes. Watch your step.
